I’m decorating my living room, and after stripping the wallpaper found that the plaster underneath had a really nice finish to it – although it’s about 10-20 years old. If I patch a couple of holes, it looks like I could paint straight onto it rather than putting up lining paper first and still get a good finish.
Is there any reason NOT to paint straight onto the plaster? Will I be saving up problems for myself later? If I apply a good undercoat first, what difference will that make? Any suggestions for the sort of undercoat I should be looking for?
It is crackling through the paint and the wall looks terrible (but you can’t see the underlying layers; it just looks like moisture has got behind the wallpaper in some spots).
What type of steamer are you meaning?
Fortunately for me, the top layer of the wallpaper (the initial covering) removed completely with just a few pulls. However, the back of the paper with the glue remains. I’ve heard of using vinegar and water and also water and cheap fabric softener. I’m concerned about the plaster walls – they are 65 years old. Has anyone some advice on what works best? Thanks!
We just moved in to an apartment and the building administrator told me that I can’t paint the walls black or red. If I want to, I can use paintable wallpaper and paint over it. But then, it’ll be twice the cost and work to actually paint my room that way. What are some things I can decorate my room with without using paint? Preferably black and red design.
I’ve been trying to decorate my kitchen in green toile. I found some great green and cream fabric, but since there isn’t a lot of opportunity to use fabric in a kitchen, I installed green toile wallpaper. I love the wallpaper, but now I think that it doesn’t go with my fabric. The problem is, the fabric is green and cream and the wallpaper green and pure white. Can you decorate with two different toiles? Should I get rid of the fabric?
I want to send some wallpapers from my pc to my bluetooth mobile, how should I do it? If yes tell me the procedure. Also, will it cost anything for my mobile and is there any danger of virus entering my mobile phone, that is, is it necessary to have antivirus for this wallpaper sending fom my pc to my bluetooth mobile phone?
I want white fur wallpaper on one wall in my room. I will buy the fabric from a fabric store. How do i put it up though?

Alex from wizards of wavery place had it… and ive heard of people having it!
My house is really old, and the previous owners were a little dumb when it came to decorating. My bedroom has hideous wallpaper on it, but there is even older stuff underneath it. Another issue is the fact that underneath all the wallpaper, we don’t think the drywall is in good condition. I have a budget of 0 ABSOLUTE MAX, (I had originally wanted to paint, but then my parents clued me in on the condition). Does anyone know of any rediculously cheap paintable wallpaper (that then I could paint over with? I figured that I could paint the room for around )
Please help me! my room right now is a HIDEOUS salmon pink with blue (yes blue) ribbons.
Btw: the square footage of the walls, minus the doors, windows etc. is 319.
Wallpaper Decorating has made such a strong return to trendy interior design that Papier has decided to vastly increase it's range of specially imported German wallpapers.
