Hey, I’m a guy and I’d say, damn.. that’s pretty cool… BUT.. i’m not so sure Elvis would approve of being pre-empted by Spiderman on the sheets.

Try to persuade him to go back to the basics.. Blues, cowboy theme, airplanes and bugs. Compromize on the bug theme and go with bugs from Bugs Life.

If all else fails, go for the tried and true elmo theme. Its unisex and everybody loves a hyperactive red monster. (borders and wall stickers available at toysrus! — put it on your registry!)

save elvis/spiderman theme for when baby gets a little older.

LOL don’t you love men when they try to decorate the house?!
I personally have had Winnie the Pooh for my daughter and Frogs and Dragonflies for my son.
I think either of your ideas are great.

I want to either have a zoo/animal theme or an underwater/deep sea/under the sea theme lol.

Good luck on choosing and having two healthy boys!!!

You might try a compromise… you have a lot of different theme ideas, you could do one on each wall. Or, you could just pick colors for the room (instead of themes) and then get them each a pair of pajamas with each of these themes on them. I feel like kids tend to outgrow themes so quickly and they can sometimes get old as well, I did animals with my first daughter and I got really sick of it. I’m now pregnant with my 3rd (our first boy) and we just plan on doing the room in blue and chocolate so it’s nothing that we can’t stand to look at in 1-2yrs!
    Good luck!!

I’d save the characters for later. I’d go with some soft colors with bold accents. That way you can change things as you get sick of them and it grows with your baby.

my older sons room is done in spider-man(he is 6) we did our baby’s room in winnie the pooh for that was what we had for our older son when he was born and loved it.

You could always do it in one theme now and when he gets a little older(around 4) do it in spider-man theme and then when he reaches about 10 do it in Elvis theme,

or you could just do one side of the room in spider-man and do the other side in Elvis

    Hope this helps some.

lol tell your boyfriend to save that theme for when they get older.

not sure if you or him would be into this but my theme is underwater. We painted the top half of the room in a very pale yellow (for sun), painted the bottom in a ocean blue, and bought a tropical fish wallpaper border off of Ebay. The nursery bedding my husband and I agreed on is in a nautical theme (with sailboats/anchors/fish). Once it was all put together, it now looks fantastic.

I went through 4-5 themes before we agreed on this one. We figured this is one that is cute for a baby, and he can grow up to. We won’t have to change the room again for at least 6-8 years!
