Futon couches and beds many times are thought of as cheap, but if you are one of the few that have a good one then you know how great they can be.  It’s really a great thing and what makes futons even better is the ability to make it look how you want with futon covers. Let’s take a look and go over somethings you might want to consider when getting a cover for your futon.

The first thing you should consider is the fabric, color and design you are looking for.  The first consideration, obviously, is to base this off of the room where your futon is now.  But the number of fabrics is really impressive. You can go with your standard cotton futon covers, the more popular mircofiber, or even a polyester fabric.

 The two things that I really consider when looking for a futon cover are how much it will be used and who is going to be using it most.  For example, if you have a bunch of kids that are going to be jumping on and off it all night long then you might want to stick with the cotton covers.

 That said, if it’s just use and your spouse who are going to be using the futon the most then you can get something a little nicer.   One style type that is really getting to be incredibly popular are animal prints.   Far and away the most popular animal print has been zebra futon prints. 

The final thing you really need to make sure of is the size. If you mess this up then you have a problem, although most time returning it isn’t an issue. What might also make a difference in style is wether the cover closes with buttons or zippers.  Zippers are really more secure, but buttons really look much better.
