It appears to have been primed (I think thats the term for it?) but there are some areas where you can really see the green board well. Besides washing all of the residual wallpaper glue off, spackling areas that were damaged in the removal, and priming&#8230; is there something else I should be doing? Any help is appreciated, thanks!</p>

Because of financial restraints, they want to paint over existing wallpaper. Because of the elderly residents, the less smell , the better. The existing paper is tight on the wall. I have been told that latex primer could break down the glue under the existing paper if used. That I should definitely use an oil based primer. The walls looked pretty good.  Yesterday I painted one wall with primer to see if I would notice any glue.  Unfortunately, I could see that there was lots of glue still on the wall (now under the primer).  Does anyone know how to fix this?  How do I remove the glue now that it has a coat of primer over it?  Thank you!</p>

Hi, thanks, I did consider wallpaper paste, but I thought it&#8217;s a little to messy and time consuming as it&#8217;s just for drawers?</p>
