Based on what you said I will assume- ---

That you washed the wall with DIF or a similar product to remove all glue residue.

Then you rinsed the wall and washed it with a mild soap (TSP or Silex both work well).

Patched all holes and sanded them.

You could put another coat of primer on your bathroom walls but if you use a good quality paint and use two coats the primer is not necessary. I have never found a true one coat paint no matter what the can or salesman says. To get the true color you need 2 coats. Don't buy cheap paint if you want it to last and be scrubable.

lightly rub down the enire wall with sandpaper, the wipe them down again with a damp rag that you clean often, let dry and ready for paint. I recomend getting a good quality paint from a paint store. Most people don't understand the grades of paint.

I had to add this for Cheesyhill, Benjamin Moores Aura is an awsome 1 coat paint in many, many applications.

What you should do to the wall is seal it. Most people confuse the terms primer and sealer. A primer is used when a surface is too glossy or shiny; the paint does not want to adhere. But a sealer is used when you want to keep other things from bleeding through your newly applied paint.
A good sealer is PVA. You can find it at any and all places that sell paint.
Good luck, and wear old clothes!
